IT IS control 2011 - Architecture overview

IT IS control is an application to dynamically manage the communication between the frontend components and the backend components of IT IS active or IT IS web, using the least amount of resources.

By analyzing the incoming requests from the frontend, IT IS control 2011 determines the addressed company and routes the request to its destination. It chooses an appropriate NAS (Navision Application Server) from a preconfigured NAS pool and starts or stops NAS instances on the fly, according to the available licenses.

After the appropriate Navision Application Server is started, the request is passed over to the NAS via the file system and then processed by the IT IS active or IT IS web logic. The backend reply will then be routed back to the frontend through message queues and is rendered for visualization in SharePoint respectively DotNetNuke by the IT IS active or IT IS web frontend components. The started NAS instance is now free to connect to any other company in the according Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment (previous known as Navision).
