The IT IS control service can now process tasks in NAV (for example: automated mailings, report generation, batch postings) based on a configurable schedule. You can decide to start the task processing either on daily, weekly or monthly bases.

To process the task, IT IS control chooses one of the available NAS from the NAS pool. It also takes the current traffic from other tasks (like the front end communication) into consideration and redirects the communication to other NAS while the task is processed. Thus the tasks are processed in NAV with the least possible impact on the NAV system itself. The communication bandwidth with your IT IS enabled web portal would improve overall since there would be one extra NAS during the other times .

However, you do not need to have a dedicated NAS for the task processing. IT IS control 2011 is picking the most feasible NAS from the pool. IT IS control also has a queuing functionality for the web.
